What's BCM all about anyway?

In this article, published in Issue 39 (January 2006) of the Security Solutions Magazine,  Saul Midler looks at how the Business Continuity space has evolved since the Y2K days. Midler argues that Business Continuity Planning has now evolved into a more ongoing process, Business Continuity Management.

In this article Midler provides some simple tools to help you assess whether your organisation has a BCP or BCM culture. He then looks at the information gathering process in BCM and makes the argument that because BC is complex, dynamic, specialised, cyclic and maintenance hungry it requires specialised software to assist in the gathering and maintenance of information.
